NEW YEAR'S BOOGIEFor time:1 15' Rope Climbthen3 Rounds of4 Cleans at Bodyweight8 Hand Release Push Ups4 Box Jumps 36/30"then1 15' Rope Climb
WOD: 135#/36" @ 5:41
I really liked the warmup clean practice and felt like it got me confident for the wod.
Today started off good with my first rope climb ever! Scaling to the orange tape until I feel confident that I won't fall off.
WOD: scaled rope climb, 65# clean, 20" pushups & box jumps. I think maybe I could have tried 20" + a plate for the box jumps. 8:57.
Congrats on going for that last rope climb too!
There was one point where I thought it wasn't gonna happen, but I really didn't want to jump down in front of everyone!
my motivation at the box too :) Whatever gets us to push past it, is the way to go!
Shoulder was sore from snatching, so I did some lax ball mobility at home. Realized the box is closed tomorrow, so I popped in for a quick 5x5 BS flat at 215#.
Lots of firsts! First time learning rope climb techniques. Didn't get anywhere, as holding my body weight for more than a few seconds was challenging, but it was good to see what it at least feels like holding on.
WOD - 4:53, First time pulling up with rope from flat on the ground and did this in the WOD. Cleans at 45#, push ups on higher bar and 20" box jumps. Decided to push and test myself after the WOD feeling like it's time to scale up. Did a couple of push ups on the lower bar and should definitely move to these. Also worked on adding one 10# weight at a time to the 20" box with a goal of being able to do the 24" box. Got there in the end and PR'ed at 24" today! Today I graduated to the 6 mos to 1 yr. category and I'm pumped! (Calling out Magda, Al and Bruno who were also in my Elements! Congrats guys!)
7:54 w/ 95# and 24" for push ups and box jumps.
This is 1.5 minutes faster than last time, 10# heavier and with rope climbs instead of rope rows. Woohoo!
Completed the clean complex from last Sunday (115, 125, 125, 130, 135)
2x20 bp (65, 75)
Worked on kipping handstand push ups and toes to bar for skills.
after getting in way over my head on friday's wod, i scaled this one too easy!
4:53 - ring rows, 65# clean, 20 box jump, 20 inch pushup.
today! It was great having you to pace with. Box jumps are the best! I'm glad you enjoyed them.
First day back after being sidelined by sickness for almost two weeks. Felt pretty good thankfully.
WOD: 155# cleans (Realized on my ride home I short changed myself by writing 145# on the board. Maybe I was a tad fatigued at the time), 36" box, 6:25.
