Allison and Mike
WEIGHTED PULL UPS5x3
ANNIE50-40-30-20-10Double UndersSit Ups
PU: skinny red band, then no band.
annie: 10:10. thats two and a half minutes faster than last time. then again last time about a million burpees preceeded annie. heh.
Who are those two cuties in the picture?? ;) I can say that because I don't think Allison reads these so she won't get embarassed.
Pull Ups: started with skinny red band, worked down to skinny blue band.
Annie: 6:53. PR'ed consecutive double unders (48)
Great job 6amers!
Strength: Weighted Pull-Ups...worked with Nick A (who is a monster on PUs). Used dumbbells, and did 20#, 25#, 35# and 2 @ 40#.
WOD: Annie - 8:34. Worked next to Hannah (who only lapped me twice! :-)) and was aiming for Coach Nick's 7-minute suggestion, but my abs decided otherwise. (PS - nice work on the DUs Hannah!)
Now, the real question is - who's ready for heavy squat day tomorrow!
Pullups - thick green band
Annie - 13:02 with du attempts
It's inspiring to see the progress that people have made over time. Watching people work their pull-ups today was pretty awesome. :)
Worked up to 40# on the PU. Feel like my callouses were a limiting factor - time to do some shaving down.
Annie: 11:30. Not so happy with this. My DUs continue to frustrate me (was consistently getting only 1-2 in a row. Maxed out at 5 on my last set). A few things that I think I can do to fix them are practice (obviously), and being consistent with my rope selection (might even consider buying a rope of my own). Used a skinny rope today, wasn't a good choice.
And of course we're all excited about squat day! I've been over-thinking my food/fuel today in anticipation (yay for 6-egg breakfasts).
PU: worked with thin blue band then last set with thin red band (not sure which is more or less resistence but red seemed harder-- not sure if that was a less resistence thing or just tired from pull ups thing) I. will. get. ONE. soon. Tried today and get stuck in the same spot (arms at like 90deg) crazy how such a tiny band makes such a big difference!'
10:14. DU's actually felt decent, all sets started out with 10-12 consistent then it was 2's, 3's and 4's. Happy to get the last round of 10 all at once. Sit ups also seem so easy until the last 20-10 and it just burns..
Happy to be back with the 6amers after a few weeks of sleeping in and hitting the PM classes. Hoping to make it more routine again!
First time in the morning!
Pullups: 10, 15, 15, 20, 20. Used plates and the weight belt. I think I could have hit 25, but the 20s were pushing it for me
Annie: 10:44. DU attempts, did not count singles. I lost at least 20 seconds on the 2nd round because my shoes kept coming untied. Pro-tip: Double knot.
Pullups - thin green and thin red - a definite step in the right direction... and since I can get into these without a step up (no comment on the "getting out" component) it's a motivation to work them more in extra time ...
WOD: 11:02 .... DUs starts as s/s/d(a) but then by the 30s becomes s/s/d/s/s/d/s/s/d ... general progress, but these might be two skills I currently dread (I mean embrace for development) in a WOD ... situps are just slow ....
Pullups: Started with thick blue band and ended with thin green + thin red.
WOD: 16:18 Rx. Last to finish, thanks everyone for cheering me on! I think the max # of situps I've done at once before today is 25 and we just don't get along in general, so today was a challenge for me.
EWOD: Mile retest - 5:30, shaved off 25 seconds from the first mile test . Was disappointed I was not able to do this last week because of sickness but I definitely feel a little sense of accomplishment tonight!
Big thank you to Hannah and Raph for the encouragement!!
Pull Ups w/ 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 17.5
Annie 7:33. Situps were slow after the first set.
