Thanks for the tip! My masseuse moved to Methuen in the spring and I've been sadly lacking in massages since then.
Wow - this one is tough! But worth it.
38:59 (I think? Let's call it 39:00), Rx. The most difficult part by far was the pushups. For any PM people that read these, consider scaling if you normally do Rx pushups if you want to go for speed. Sheer fatigue (and pull-ups) make these get very hard, very fast (was breaking into 2s and 1s towards the end). Also, Long again reminded me of the necessity of learning the butterfly kip. His movement looked so much more effecient than mine, and was easily twice as fast.
Dana - good call! I used a Band-Aid brand "friction stick" for runners, and even that wasn't entirely enough - I did my last set of situps on the "turf."
I agree with Nick...this one was rough. It doens't help that (1) I didn't eat enough yesterday, (2) kids woke uop around 4am, (3) my wife got sick and (4) I didn't get good sleep. *Sigh* I finished round 4 of Rx about 5 seconds before Nick finished...but, I figured being severely light-headed in through rounds 3 and 4 was a good indication to stop. Maybe next time...
Have fun PMers!
WOD: 35:51 (ish): L2--> 10 pull ups w/ med blue band, 20 push ups on 12" box, 20 matador knee raises and 40 squats that really really burned.
And yep, Long pretty much looked like a swimming eel on those pullups. Great job everyone.
See you all tomorrow~ you may or may not recognize me in my costume ;)
37:38 - L1 with ring rows and push ups on the 24 inch box. I initially thought I was taking the easy way out using the 24 inch instead of my usual 20 but I was wrong. By the third round I splitting the pushups into 2s and 3s.
Times for each round were - 3:54, 4:28, 5:24, 5:43 and 5:59
L2, 33:27. Pushups were by far the hardest part. By round 2 I was doing them in 5s, round 3 in pairs. I scaled to L2 because I knew I'd struggle with the pushups.
Also, let me stress the importance of not eating pizza for dinner the night before with your D&D group because you're too lazy to stand out in the cold and grill your meats. I wanted to vomit this morning when I started round 5. I haven't had that nausea since my first day at the Saturday newbie class.
Chris, this is always relevant advice.
And you play D&D? We should chat. :)
But we still call it D&D.
Barbara kicked my butt! 33:21 L2- ring rows, 24" box for push ups. Between just getting back into the swing of things, still being somewhat in vacation mode, and not eating much today I definitely wasn't feeling my best at the end. I was happy just to finish it.
Barbara is a bitch! I was worried about the pullups before the WOD, but OMG the push ups! The hardest part by far! Never been so close to puking since I came to H2O
WOD: 31:07 RX. Special thanks to Nick for pushing me on and having a great taste in music! Next step is to master the butterflies and go under 30.
Started to cramp up after the WOD so I took Benjamin's advice and ate alot of protein, banana and took an ice-bath with salts (felt like home, awesome). Feeling good now, GO RedSox!
Glorious EWOD with Raph and Anthony tonight. Gorgeous night to be out on the track and a little quieter than usual because of the Sox game.
Hit the distances within target time ranges and felt challenged but strong. The different types of recovery (jogging, walking and 1:1 rest time) definitely made it a bit more interesting. At the end, Raph noted that this is probably the longest workout we've done (7500m total). It's been really amazing to see all the progress we've made over the last couple of months.
Ummm...what just happened?
5:30 crew killed it, per usual. It was great to have Coach Nick for a change!
32:03, L1 w/ ring rows and 24" box for push ups. Honestly, the killer for me were the sit ups. I know I will not be able to stand up straight starting tomorrow night. Good times all around!
20 ring rows, 30 push ups on 30" box, 40 sit ups (that's gonna hurt on Friday), 50 singles (subbed the squat becaus of ongoing hamstring glute stuff).
So excited for costume WOD tomorrow!
