I wanted to come in tomorrow, but I've got some shoulder pain (from a missed grab on the rope this morning), so I'm gonna rest and mobilize at home.  Had I come in, I would have E2MOMed snatches and the AMRAPed burpees and OHS (which would have been two days in a row, but those are my least favorite movements right now!)

Heavy Pill: Picked snatches with the intent of practicing catching low. I can power snatch more than I can snatch because I have trouble dropping under fast and stabilizing in the bottom. Anyway, started at 33#, got that, got 38#, then at 43# my brain refused to catch low and I had a temper meltdown. Fortunately Coach Glenn was there to talk me down from the ledge. A drop in weight and change in set-up position helped me start catching low again.

Pick Your Poisson: sit-ups and burpees. 5 rounds + 18.

Wow.  Tough morning!  But I came away from it knowing that if I can do all that work on stuff I hate, I can pretty much tackle anything.

Heavy Pill: OHS @ 135#.  Yesterday reminded me what a pain these were.  Took them off the rack and push pressed into position.  Bringing them back down was one of the trickier parts.

Poison: Thrusters @ 95# and Wallballs at 20#.  Thanks to Magda for inspiring me to go ahead and tackle wallballs (was going to sub burpees thinking that OHS + thrusters + wb would be too much).  Got through the 15s and then 8 thrusters, so 5 rds + 8.

Lots of tough, hard work this morning, and I didn't hear a single complaint!  Way to conquer your demons, H20.

Heavy Pill: went with full snatches since all versions of the snatch give me headaches. stuck with 53# since the second round i hit 2 and the 3rd was just messy. as the rounds went on it clicked much better and 53 started feeling comfortable. 

Poison: power snatches (45#) and burpees. since i did full snatches in the heavy part figured i'd give it's evil twin some attention. and i'm trying to convince myself i will enjoy burpees someday....right? got in 80 reps (5rds+10psnatches). definitely took way too much rest. burpees were the easier movement for me. as the reps increased, broke out the psnatches into sets of 4/5. 

i think as a reward for this in the next few months we should have the same WOD but pick your FAVORITE movements :)

E2MOM - I felt really unstable doing the OHS yesterday, so I went with OHS today.  First round at 53# and the rest at 63#.

WOD - 43# lunges and 16" box jumps - 5+27 reps - I struggle with consistency on lunges so I tried to go slow and concentrate on my form.  Fortunately Glenn was there to point out when I was leaning forward.

E2MOM 16. Snatches to 80#. Tried for full snatches but most were power snatches. These are so much better than they used to be in the old days when they terrified me. Coach Stephen said my pulls looked really good. :-)

AMRAP 12 pick your fish. Burpees and ring rows. Wanted to do wallballs but the lower back said no. I thought ring rows would be "too easy" when Stephen suggested the sub....

e2mom - OHS at 73#. worked with Jill, so nice to have a buddy for this one!

Amrap - dumbell shoulder press with 10# each, double unders.

made it halfway through the round of 27 - which was 135 shoulder presses in total. my arms might be a little tired for shoveling tomorrow :)

Foiled by Tufts' career fair, Vin, Lisa and I returned to H2O for some rowing fun. 

"Career Fairs are for Babies"

4 rounds of 2 minute row, 1 minute choose-your-own-adventure, 1 minute rest.

Rowed just over 500m each round and chose kb cleans (44#) and push ups as my movements. Rowed 5k on Tuesday so was a little sore but am really starting to enjoy rowing.
