Pause Power Snatch: These felt surprisingly OK, got up to 58#. Got 63# 1X, two rounds but lost it on the 2nd one.

Back squat: Apparently during my snatches I was lifting with a jerking twisting motion and tweaked my back, so I didn't max my squat. Flat sets X3 @ 105#.

I do this every couple of months. A day of Aleve and an IcyHot patch and I'll be good as new :)

I know this is preaching to the chior but, when I go into work after the gym I am so much happier and very likely more pleasant to be around. I think that is as much due to the exercise as it is to the positive effect of the coaches & community.

PPSn: to 110.

BS: OK at 245lb.  Then jumped to 275lb, got one, and bailed on the second.  The jump was ... ambitious.  Just wanted to see where I'm at, I guess.  If I had done 3x275 that would be about my 3RM from the tail end of the squat sequence.  Given where I've been the past few months, and what I've done to my legs already this week (I'm kinda knackered), 1x275 has me happy.

It was great working with Paul and Matt this morning, and seeing Katie C at 6am.  One of us!  One of us!

i'm getting better about the mornings! did 6am wed too :) I agree w/Britt, i'm a happier person during the day when i go in the AM and see all your smiling faces!

Felt really off this morning with some light headedness so I sat most of the class out.  Never done that before!  But it was fun watching the you folks get stronger.  I'm fine and looking forward to our trip - see you all in a couple of weeks.

Pause Full Snatch: did full snatch-- these always make me nervous for some reason! got up to 2x 73# which actually felt pretty good. the pause really made me focus on keeping the bar in close & and work on that straight/vertical bar path. 

BS: up to 155# and felt good. happy with this esp. since last recorded 1RM was september and it was 160#

Happy Valentine's day!  No better way to start it than with back squats.

Snatch: worked up to 90.  +5 pr.  I am still limited by the stability when I catch it, but it got a lot better today.  I was landing on the middle of my foot instead of my toes when getting under which, believe it or not, helps a lot!

Squats: 205x3.  Failed 215 twice on the 2nd rep.  205 was my goal so I'm happy.

Emom5: worked on butterflies

2RM pause P-snatch: 145#, felt confident after yesterday and 145 was my goal for today and the same as my PR.

3RM Squats: 265#, failed at the first attempt in rep2, but got a pep talk from Nick and got it pretty solid. 265 was my goal for today since I havent done a lot of squats since I started here. Hopefully I can go a little bit higher in the next months.

Noonerrrr! Pause power snatch: to 93#. As coach Nick pointed out, my set up blows so I spent a good part of the time at 93#, working on that. BS: 185#. Think I could have gone heavier but time wasn't on my side. Happy with this as my RM is 190. Special thanks to coach Nock for some really, really great coaching today!

Open Gym Valentine Date with Ms. Jaffney. Couldn't miss her on her last pre-baby coaching day!

Bench press. 5x10 @ 65,75,85,90 and 95. I had to break up the last set of ten as 5, 3 and 2 to get through it at that weight without a spot.

Back squat. 5x5 @ 115,130,145,165,175. Lost a lot this past year in my squat so I'm working on getting my strength back.
